Raymond Scarboro

Raymond Curtis Scarboro Jr. aka Ray, Sonny, Poppy, Dad, age 83, passed peacefully on October 13, 2022. He was born in his parent’s home in Cooptown, Maryland on January 28, 1939. He graduated from North Harford High School in 1956. It was at North Harford he met his future wife of 57 years, Shirley Jean Anders. He initially worked for the Bendix Corporation before taking a job with Aircraft Armaments Incorporated (AAI). He worked at AAI for more than 35 years starting on the assembly line and retiring in 1995 as Manager of Manufacturing and earning his electrical engineer designation. Sonny was an avid surf fisherman, carpenter, gardener, antique car restorer and all-around tinkerer.

Raymond is survived by his daughter Michele Barrow of Delta, Pennsylvania and his son Mark Scarboro (Maureen) of Forest Hill, Maryland; four grandchildren, Jacob Barrow, Cody Barrow, Amanda Scarboro and Grant Scarboro; two great grandchildren Raylan Barrow and Oakley Barrow; and his adventuring partners, sister-in-law Pat Hunter (Michael).

He was preceded in death by his wife and sister, Peg.
