Paul Edgar Cantler Jr.

March 28, 1930 — February 18, 2011

Paul Edgar Cantler Jr., age 80, of Abingdon, MD, died on February 18, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Darlington, MD, he was the son of the late Paul Elmer and Nellie Elizabeth Beavers Cantler. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during the Korean Conflict. Along with his wife, he owned and operated Cantler's Personal Care Home in Abingdon, and had worked for Esskay Meats in Baltimore where he was a sausage maker. He also was a Federal Police Officer at Ft. Meade and attended Edgewood Assembly of God for 55 years. He was beloved by his family and lived an exemplary life. In 1963, along with the help of his elder brother, Arthur, he was delivered a pile of block and lumber and built the house where he raised his family. He was a hard worker, faithful husband, and a good father. He was kind to everyone around him and he was beloved by all. He will be missed forever. We love you Dad and dearest Husband.

Mr. Cantler is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith C. Walls Cantler of Abingdon, MD; sons, Timothy John Cantler and wife, Kim, Paul Anthony Cantler and wife, Joanne, and Thomas Christopher Cantler and wife, Patricia, all of Abingdon, MD; daughters, Sandra Carol Whittington and husband, Paul, Kathryn Lynn Cantler and husband, Matt Breeden, and Brenda Sue Kuhn, all of Abingdon, MD; brothers, Arthur Cantler of Aberdeen, MD, Charles Cantler of Abingdon, MD , and Gene Cantler of VA; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Edward Cantler and sisters, Virginia Leonard and Louise Williams.
