Paul E. Brackins

PAUL EUGENE BRACKINS, SR., age 77, of Bel Air, MD, died at Stella Maris Hospice, Timonium, MD on August 21, 2007. Born in Bel Air, MD, he was the son of the late George Washington and Stella Mae Caudill Brackins. In 1986, he retired from Baltimore Gas and Electric after 34 years (1952 – 1986) of service where he was a lineman. He also worked for the A&P Grocery Market in Bel Air and was a bus driver for Corbin Bus Company. A life long resident of Harford County, he coached Little League Baseball in Bel Air and attended Baptist View Church. He served in the National Guard for 20 years.

Mr. Brackins is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia F. Magee Brackins; four sons, Gene Brackins, and his wife, Bonnie C., of Rochester, New York, Douglas F. Brackins and his wife, Jane, of Bel Air, MD, Timothy J. Brackins, and his wife, Sue, of Fallston, MD, and Jeffrey B. Brackins, and his wife, Susan, of Kingsville, MD; two daughters, Pamela S. Brackins of Bel Air, MD and Andrea L. Utz and her husband, Steve, of Jarvisburg, NC; two brothers, Ralph Brackins of Bradenton, FL and William C. Brackins of Creston, NC; two sisters, Pauline Dowell of Sparta, NC and Doris Scerbak of Ypsilanti, MI; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Wayne Brackins, Leff Brackins, Marvin Brackins, and Ray Brackins and two sisters, Alma McNutt and Isabell Bay.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Brackins’s sons, Gene Brackins, Douglas Brackins, Tim Brackins, and Jeff Brackins. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Brackins’s grandchildren, Jenny Brackins, Tim Brackins, Katy Brackins, Eric Scott, Nathan Scott, Rachel Brackins, Joe Brackins, Adam Brackins, Aaron Brackins, and Sydney Brackins.
