Patricia L. Young

Patricia Louise Young, nee Stevens, age 75, of Forest Hill, MD passed away on January 7, 2019 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. She was born on December 19, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late John Stevens, C. Winifred and John Elwood Leight.

A lifelong resident of Harford County, she was a 1961 graduate of Bel Air High School and graduated nursing school at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland in 1964. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross and once named volunteer of the year for the Baltimore Region. She served as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts and taught Sunday school at Churchville Presbyterian Church for 40 years. She spent most of her nursing career at Fallston General Hospital, where she was a nurse manager of several departments. She retired from Fallston General in 1996, but continued to work part-time in various outpatient surgical centers. Patricia also enjoyed traveling, reading, attending sporting events, photography and lunches with her many friends.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Douglas Young; her daughter Amy Young-Buckler, of Columbia, Maryland, husband John Buckler, and son Cooper; her daughter Karen Young James, of Abingdon, Maryland, husband Raymond James, and daughter Bethany. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Hilton Leight, of Yuma, Arizona, and his family. Patricia is remembered by a large extended family and loving friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Beth Young Tarquini.
