Oda Rose Steelman

ODA R. STEELMAN, age 86, of Havre de Grace, died at her home on September 10, 2003. Born in Baywood, Freese County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Felix Monroe and Stella Jane Cox Edwards, and the wife of the late Eugene F. Steelman. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Level Volunteer Fire Company for over 30 years and a longtime member of the Bel Air Church of the Nazarene. She was known for the cakes she baked for all occasions and for making mashed potatoes for the Level V.F.C and the Churchville Elementary School where nine of her children attended.

Mrs. Steelman is survived by seven sons, Alvin E. Steelman of Havre de Grace; James M. Steelman of Orlando, Florida; William F. Steelman of Bel Air; John W. Steelman of Havre de Grace; Roger L. Steelman of Churchville; Ronald C. Steelman of Havre de Grace; Larry F. Steelman of Havre de Grace; two daughters, Peggy J. Fink of Bel Air; N. Marie Anderson of Havre de Grace; one brother, Franklin Edwards of Bel Air; four sisters, Ossie Hutchins of Aberdeen; Myrtle Beaman of Whiteford; Gelene Hausley of Havre de Grace; Irene Kitts of Darlington; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Patty Sue Steelman.


Pallbearers will be: Chris Steelman, Johnny Fink, Gary Anderson, Jim Steelman, Bill Steelman, and Joey Steelman.
