Michael Timothy Mull

January 29, 1944 — September 29, 2020

Michael "Mickey" Timothy Mull of Bel Air, Maryland, passed peacefully surrounded by family at his home on September 29, 2020.

On January 29, 1944, Michael was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Louis and Veronica Mull. He was the middle child of two siblings, Pamela and Terrance. Michael grew up on Florence Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from John Bartram Highschool in 1963.

Michael attended RETS Electronics School in Broomall, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, he accepted a position as an Electronics Technician with Northrop Gruman (Formerly Westinghouse Electric) in Baltimore, MD. He accumulated 44 years of service to the company, where he worked on many High-Profile Top Secret Projects, including the electronics for the radar system on the Stealth Bomber.

Michael took great pride in his job, which was reflected in his impeccable work ethic. He managed the lab equipment and kept the workspace in working order, often after everyone else had left for the day. Michael loved his job and was awarded for his accomplishments several times before retiring in 2010.

In Michael's free time, he was an avid reader and enjoyed studying history. He also loved to dabble in several hobbies. As a young man, Michael collected stamps. Later in life, he enjoyed photography, cycling, boating, traveling, and oil painting. Michael loved the outdoors and owned a boat for many years. He enjoyed sailing on the bay during family vacations. He also built a "Fol Boat" (kayak type boat made of canvas) by hand, which he would take out on the water during his annual camping trips with his beloved father and Brother, Louis and Terry Mull.

Michael was a homeowner and personally maintained the house where he helped to raise his family. He also repaired his cars and would often be found with a wrench in hand, changing the oil in the middle of January. He had an extensive collection of tools that he collected over the years and was extremely handy. He would often spend his one day off a week making repairs around the home.

Anyone who knows Michael knows that he was a highly competitive person. He was a champion chess player, having won several tournaments. He loved Casino games, notably Blackjack and Poker. During his retirement years, Michael enjoyed playing in the weekly Poker Tournament at the VFW in Bel Air with his brother Terry and friend, Frank.

Michaels strong-willed nature and logical mindset served him well throughout his life. He battled and fought off several health issues over his 76 years, surviving Hodgkin's Disease, kidney disease, and several other surgeries. Michaels strength and dry, witty sense of humor carried him through many of life's trials and tribulations. His stubborn nature always helped him fight another day. Michael will be remembered for his intelligence, integrity, and generous spirit.

Michael is survived by his former spouse, Betty Abshire; his children Gregory Mull, Sonya Mull, and Lisa Garonzik Bullock; daughter-in-law Ryann Mullin; son-in-laws Rudy Mathelier and Ronald Bullock; his pride and joy - granddaughter Arianna Saige Garonzik; grandsons Noah, Greyson and Brady Bullock; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also left to honor his memory is long time friend Howard Brickman and neighbors Frank Casey and Dottie Meyer.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice Care for their respectful and loving service during our time of need.
