Michael P. Flanigan

Michael P. Flanigan, age 67, of Edgewood, MD, passed away on June 22, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Felix Joseph and Lillian Kasak Flanigan. A Special Education Teacher, he received his B.S. from Friends University in Wichita, KS and his Masters of Education from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. He taught on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona, Choctaw Indian Reservation in Mississippi, and for 11 years, at Baltimore City Public Schools. He had an interest in Native American Culture of which he was an avid collector, and attended pow wows. He also enjoyed horse racing, photography, writing, and the Baltimore Ravens.

Mr. Flanigan is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beverly D. (Jones) Flanigan; son, Joseph M. Flanigan and wife, Amy Flanigan, of Frederick, MD; sisters, Patty Flanigan and Lisa Marconi both of Wilmington, DE and Colleen Newcomb of Spruce Head, ME; and granddaughter, Avery Flanigan.
