Matthew John Zandarski

November 16, 1938 — February 18, 2022

Matthew John Zandarski, age 83, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away from post-surgery complications on February 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Maryland. Born in Mocanaqua, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Michael and Mary (Yagusheski) Zandarski and beloved husband of the late Dolores (Lind) Zandarski.


Matthew led a rich life, full of adventure including time as a saxophone player in local night clubs, a sub shop and Insurance Agency owner with his wife Dolores, an avid Duckpin bowler, and at various times, owning a plane, boat and motorcycle.  In his later life, he was a bus driver and well known as "Mr. Matt". Matt, a very talented musician, continued his musical skills playing in local churches where he earned the nickname the "Sacred Sax". He also enjoyed spending his time singing karaoke. For a portion of his life, he spent time as a U.S Army Reservist with an Honorable Discharge.


Matthew is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Urand and husband Rodney of Stewartstown, PA; stepson, George M. Amend; and stepdaughter, Denise Niner and husband Frank. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by father, Michael Henry Zandarski, mother, Mary Catherine Zandarski, wife, Dolores Jacqueline Zandarski, and brother, Frank Zandarski.

: Service & Eulogy delivered by Pastor Craig McLaughlin of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
2:45pm: Collection to Benefit 7MWWJ & Call to Christ.
3:00pm: Sharing of Memories, Open Mic Opportunity.
3:30pm: Closing Remarks and Music. 

This event will also raise money and awareness for the Seven Mile Walk With Jesus Organization. "Formerly known as MD Walk to Emmaus, we are an independent 4th-day community in Maryland whose sole purpose is to serve God and spread the Love of Jesus Christ.
