Mary Lou Hooper

November 21, 1944 — December 1, 2020

Mary Lou Hooper, born on November 21, 1944, age 76, of Fallston, Maryland passed away on December 1, 2020 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland surrounded in love and prayer by her three children and beloved husband. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Poe and Louise Delphina (Pagliughi) Walter and wife of fifty-four years to William D. Hooper, Jr. She attended the Shrine of the Little Flower, Catholic High School and St. Michaels Business School, where she studied and became a legal secretary. Being in the legal field lead to a chance meeting with the love of her life, Bill who was an attorney. As a resident of Harford County, she lived in Joppatowne for five years and then moved to Fallston, where she lived for the next forty-eight years.

Family was her first priority. She loved her children, grandchildren and all extended family more than anything in the world; and was the most kind, loving, thoughtful and selfless being there ever was. Travel was her passion and her career. She was always ready to get the next stamp in her passport. One of her favorite places to travel was the Caribbean, and she especially loved feeding the sting rays off the coast of the Cayman Islands and then relaxing on the beach with a Rum Runner. Her second favorite place was Ocean City, Maryland, where she had a second home and many happy memories were forged. She had many talents and interests, such as cooking, gardening, reading, and community service.

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly A. Hilliard (Michael) and Melissa Haigley (Kerry); son, Bryan M. Hooper (Francee); seven grandchildren, Chase, Summer, and Brayden Hilliard, Sam and Mitchell Haigley, Taylor and Madison Hooper,; two sisters, June Sharkey and Marlene Strobel; and she is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled as soon as health concerns permit.

Those who desire may send contributions to her favorite charity:
Shriner's Children's Hospital, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
