Mary L. Loadholt

Mrs. Mary Lacie Gordon Loadholt was born on October 10, 1928 in Sanford, N.C. to the late Ardella Mock and Ernest Goss; she departed this life on June 28th, 2019.

Mary decided to leave Sanford, North Carolina in her early twenties and relocated to New York City. Mary found work, made friends and attended Williamsburg Christian Church. There she sang in the choir and met the love of her life, and married Hebert W. Loadholt. From that union two daughters were born, Lynette Loadholt and Ulanda Loadholt.

Mary was a foster mother for several years to over 19 children and maintained contact with some, seeing them into adulthood with their families. Mary was a devoted wife and mother to her family and her extended family. Towards her later years in life she worked at Catholic Guardian Society with special needs children till her retirement. Mary’s goodness and unselfishness will always be remembered.

Mary leaves to mourn her daughters, Lynette Loadholt and Ulanda Loadholt of Bel Air, MD, Virginia Gause of Pittston, PA, her sister, Ernestine Morris and her husband, Johnny Morris of Bennettsville, S.C., Carrie Farrar of Washington, DC, Dorian Farrar of Washington, DC, Leonard Foy of Baltimore, MD, Beverly Loadholt Chandler and her husband, Berkley of Palm Coast in Flager, FL, Michael Miley and his wife, Veronica of Garden Grove, CA, Gary Fields of Brooklyn, NY, and Jeffrey Curry of Brooklyn, NY, eight grandchildren, a host of relatives, friends and Luckey Tux.
