Mary Dittus

July 27, 1963 — December 29, 2021

Mary Dittus, age 58, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on December 29, 2021 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland after a long battle with COPD. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, she is the daughter of John and Patricia (Sullivan) May and wife of John B. Dittus.    


Mary is survived by her beloved husband of forty years John B. Dittus, her children John C Dittus (Jennifer Funk), Amanda Dittus, Emily Dittus and Michael Dittus. Cherished grandmother to Reagan Dittus, Jack Dittus, Sean Dittus, Oliver Torsiello and Cian Torsiello, brothers John May of Bayonne and James May of Virginia Beach and sister Jessica Wickersty and niece Patricia Wicketsty. Beloved sister-in-law to Janice (Martin) Dougherty, Joyce (Dan) Sweeney, Charles J Dittus and Gregory W. Dittus. Treasured aunt to Dan (Nicole) Sweeney, Meghan (Phil) Rinaldi, Katie Sweeney, Matthew and Marina Dittus. Maryanne is also survived by four great nieces and nephews. 


She was preceded in death by her beloved in-laws Charles and Anne Dittus of Bayonne New Jersey. 


Mary enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren and all things Irish. She visited Ireland several times and always enjoyed the town of Stradbally in County Laois.  Mary was particularly fond of Irish music and enjoyed the friendship of a local Irish band The ShamRogues. She was a former member of Bush River Yacht Club where she enjoyed many years of boating on the Chesapeake Bay with her favorite stops at Rock Hall.
