Mary "Betty" E. Boone

Mary "Betty" E. Boone, 82, of Joppa, MD, passed away on January 6, 2015 at her home. Born in Baird, TX, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Lomar Ashton and Nancy Louise Pharis Davis. She was a native of Texas and lived there for most of her life. Affectionately known as "Booma" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was an artist, author, seamstress and enjoyed doing crafts.
Mrs. Boone is survived by her husband of 63 years, whom she met at the age of 14, Troy Lee Boone; daughter, Tammie Lin Bortner of Joppa; sisters, LaVerne Dobbs of Melbourne, FL and LaVonne Rankin of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Aimee Winner, Brittany Boone, Jennifer Wagner, Adam Bortner, John Boone, Anna Burton and Sara Bortner; and four great-grandchildren, Raegan Wagner, Jonah Winner, Caleb Wagner and Keira Burton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Terry Lee Boone.
