Mary Alice Kern

Mary Alice Kern, 78, of Joppa, MD, passed away on February 3, 2015 at her home in Joppa. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, she is the daughter of the late Richard John Doran Jr. and Ethel Marie Krell Doran and wife of the late George H. Kern Sr. A homemaker, she was a lifelong resident of Harford County and enjoyed living on the family farm on Winters Run Road. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and also attended Emmorton Baptist Church. She loved playing Bingo at Joppa Magnolia VFC, Jarrettsville VFC and St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She enjoyed her breakfast club that met at the Edgewood McDonalds every morning, and entering her embroidery work in the Harford County Farm Fair.

Mrs. Kern is survived by her brothers, Richard and Charles Doran of Edgewood and Melvin Doran of Joppa; sister, Anna Brewster of Joppa; grandchildren, George Kern III, Martin Kern and William Baublitz; and great grandchildren, Carlene Kern, Lilyann Gary and Patricia Kern. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, George Henry Kern Jr. and daughter, Mary Patricia Kern.

Pallbearers will be Martin and George Kern, Robbie Brewster, Charles Doran, Tony Baublitz and Brian Morrison.
