Mark D. Pacione

October 13, 1954 — December 29, 2014

Mark D. Pacione, 60, of Fallston, MD, passed away on December 29, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he is the son of Mary Louise (Cellitto) Pacione-Schulmeyer and the late Primo Angelo Pacione. Mark worked in Youth Ministry and eventually in planning and research for the Archdiocese. He was the producer of the morning program when Pope John II came to Baltimore. It was his second time helping to put together an event for the pope. His love for young people, his talent for creativity, and his zeal for and knowledge of the faith made him a natural choice. Mark volunteered in youth ministry at Saint Pius X parish where his wife is the pastoral life director. From 1995-2001 he served on the Board of Directors for the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry and was serving on the Board of Directors for the Catholic Youth Foundation. In 2000 he received the National Youth Ministry Award from NFCYM for his contribution at the National Level. He also served on the leadership team on the Partnership for Adolescent Catechesis. This past summer he went to Alaska to share the Gospel with various ministers in North Pole, Alaska. He loved to read and to write, to garden and to run, to sketch and to paint, to play guitar and to write music. He also loved good food, good wine and good friends. He loved his family and extended family and always took the time to talk about how remarkable his brothers were, how much he loved his sister, and what he learned in life from his mother and father.

Mr. Pacione is survived by his wife, Carol J. Wagner Pacione; daughter, Elizabeth E. Rausch and husband, Ian, of Boston, MA; brothers, Jeffrey D. Pacione and wife, Sharon, of Wenham, MA and Christopher D. Pacione and wife, Jennifer, of Pittsburgh, PA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father he was predeceased by his sister, Anita M. Tebbutt-Evetts.
