Lucy C. Heckman

On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Lucy Coale Heckman of Churchville, MD, passed away at age 83. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William (Bill) Heckman.

Lucy was a resident at Hart Heritage Estates, and passed away at UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late H. Edward and Evelyn Dukehart Coale. Lucy is survived by her daughters, Barbara Burton (Doug) of Fallston, MD, and Joan Scruggs (Rick) of Pasadena, MD, along with her two grandchildren, Richard and Samantha.

Lucy was predeceased by her brothers Edward (Duke), Robert, Michael, Frederick, Harry Jr., Larry, Joseph and sister, Elizabeth Waldron. She is survived by sisters, Sarah Hanlon and Susan Souder (Ray); both residing in FL.

Lucy graduated from Bel Air High School in 1955. She retired from APG (Aberdeen Proving Ground). Lucy and Bill enjoyed traveling and lived in Germany for six years.

A celebration of Lucy’s life will be held at a later date.
