Lowell A. Repp

April 26, 1932 — September 3, 2022

Lowell A. Repp, proud husband, father, grandfather, and friend, died peacefully in the early evening of September 3, 2022, at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. He was 90 years old.

Lowell was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on April 26, 1932, the only child of Otto Adolph Repp and Elizabeth Gertrude (Gossard) Repp. He was raised in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, where he attended school and played cornet in band. After graduating Scottdale High School in 1950, Lowell served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

In 1954, Lowell married Thelma Mae Grimm in Scottdale, Pennsylvania. They were married 68 years. Lowell enjoyed a rewarding career in the grocery business, most notably as store manager for Acme Markets in Ligonier, Pennsylvania and Bel Air, Maryland. He was an active and devout member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Bel Air, Maryland for over 40 years. Lowell enjoyed model trains, singing in church and community choirs, traveling the world, and spending time with his family. He was an engaged and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was known for his love for God, his contagious laugh, and his gift for lifting the spirits of those around him.

Lowell’s legacy lives on through his family. He is survived by his wife, Thelma (Grimm) Repp; his sons, Bill (Sharon), Bradley (Christine), and Brian (Marjorie); and his grandchildren Andrew (Stephanie), Austin, and Anna.
