Leroy E. Forde

August 14, 1938 — March 23, 2022

Leroy E. Forde, age 83, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on March 23, 2022 at his home. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Leroy and Louise (Richardson) Forde and husband of the late Lois Bethelene (Faulk) Forde. Leroy was a member of Cross Point Community Church and loved the Lord. Throughout his life, he worked for Koppers, United Container Company, Ford Motor Company, and was a Union Representative of the IAM. He was a staunch supporter of unions and advocated for workers’ rights. Leroy was also an avid reader, a value he worked hard to instill in his children. He took pride in his beautiful garden, and shared fruits and vegetables with the neighbors who stopped to appreciate his work.  He loved listening to all types of music but had a particular love of jazz. Leroy also loved spending time with his family and friends and was a die-hard Ravens Fan.  He was hard-working, strong of mind and heart, kind, loving and will be greatly missed.

Leroy is survived by his daughters Andrea Forde, Margie Reives (Bobby), Cheryl Greene (Kevin), and Kim Baugh; sister, Dolores Fernandez; grandchildren, Demetrius Faulk (Omeka), Kimiko Nelson (Shane), Randall Tre Forde, Lauren Greene, Jessica Greene Kamara (Fatmata), and Jessica Lavant (Kevin); as well as four great-grandchildren Jayden Johnson, Bryson Nelson, Jada Johnson, and Carter Nelson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Leroy was preceded in death by his son, Daryl Forde, sisters Carole Mainor and Katherine Servance, and brother, Walter Forde.
