Justine Elizabeth Dougherty

November 30, 1931 — July 14, 2011

Justine Elizabeth Dougherty, age 79, of Bel Air, MD, died on July 14, 2011 while living at Brightview Avondell Independent Living in Bel Air, MD. Justine was born in Vero Beach FL to the late William Davis and Elizabeth Justine Gray. She celebrated 36 years as the wife of the late Brigadier General Francis E. Dougherty, Jr., Air National Guard (ret). Upon graduating from Winter Haven High School, she attended Grady Memorial Hospital School of nursing and is a graduate of the Lakeland Business Institute. She spent her time at home as a devoted mother of five and wife. Justine was also a member of the Maryland Air National Guard Officers Wives Club, PEO Chapter Q and St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, socializing with everyone, going to the beach, bowling, playing cards with friends, traveling and camping with her husband. Most of all, she thoroughly loved spending as much time as possible with her 5 children, their spouses and most importantly, time well-spent with her 11 grandchildren.

Mrs. Dougherty is survived by her son, Francis E. Dougherty III, and wife Mary of Havre de Grace, MD; daughters, Elizabeth Justine O'Brien, and husband William of Bel Air, MD, Colleen Dougherty-Gray, and husband Michael of Colorado, Marguerite F. Alexander, and husband Richard of Ellicott City, MD and Catherine A. Tosches, and husband Louis of Catonsville, MD; and grandchildren, Meghan C. Dougherty of Bel Air, MD, James P. O'Brien of New York, Kristin F. Murphy of Bel Air, MD, Clayton P. Alexander of Baltimore, MD, Francis E. Dougherty, IV and Ronald A. Dougherty, both of Bel Air, MD, Colleen M. Tosches of Catonsville, MD, Caroline E. Alexander of Ellicott City, MD, Sarah R. Tosches of Catonsville, MD, Liam Gray of Colorado and Louis L. Tosches III of Catonsville, MD.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Major William B. Davis, U.S. Army (ret) in 2008.
