Joseph Carl Whitaker

JOSEPH CARL WHITAKER, age 83, of Churchville, MD, died on August 19, 2007 at his home. Born in Renick, WV, he was the son of the late Thomas Kelly and Rena Virginia Hankins Whitaker. An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed boating and crabbing. He retired from the Department of the Army in 1978 where he was a heavy duty equipment mechanic. As a garage mechanic he helped his friends. A former Boy Scout Leader, he was also a long time member of the Masons.

Mr. Whitaker is survived by his wife of 60 years, J. Arlene Wilfong Whitaker of Churchville, MD; two daughters, Carolyn V. Duvall and Camellia W. Warrington, both of Bel Air, MD; three sisters, Ann Livezey and Ruth Crouse, both of Bel Air, MD, and Aretta Glassman of Elkton, MD; four grandchildren, Todd Robinson, William Street, Joseph Whitaker III, and Kim Warrington, all of Bel Air, MD; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Joseph C. Whitaker Jr.

Pallbearers will be Todd Robinson, William Street, Joseph Whitaker III, Bret Robinson, Jim Rinehart, and Kim Warrington.
