John William Brooks

John William Brooks, age 64, of Joppatowne, Maryland passed away on April 22, 2022 at his home. Born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, he was the son of William and Joan (Bryant) Brooks. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy as a Plane Captain with VF-14 Top Hatters. After his Navy career, he was a Local 16 Ironworker. John loved road trips and traveling. He frequented haunted attractions and went to all the local ones, and travel to any he could find. He was daring, loved roller coasters and if a friend mentioned skydiving, he would jump on it, and right out of the perfectly good airplane. 

John is survived by his brother, Chris Allen Brooks; sisters, Robin L. McLewee and Deborah Lee Brooks; uncle, Warren Bryant; cousins, George Bryant, Jr., Dawn Bryant, Phillip Bryant and Barbara Clancy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle, George Bryant, Sr.
