John Vincent Russo

John Vincent Russo, age 87, of Forest Hill, MD passed away on January 4, 2020 at Greenfield Senior Living in Bel Air, MD. Born in Waynesburg, PA, he was the son of Joseph and Jennie (Mancuso) Russo and husband of the late Margaret Ann (Hunt) Russo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. He had played basketball and football for Waynesburg High School and Waynesburg College, as well as playing basketball for the US Army. In 1987 he retired from Harford County Public Schools as the Supervisor of Transportation after 30 years of service. Prior to that, he started his career teaching at Bel Air Junior High School where he also served as Vice Principal. He was the Assistant Varsity Football Coach for Bel Air High School for several years including their 1959 undefeated season. He held several administrative positions within the Harford County Public Schools. He and his wife liked to travel, going to the casinos, spending time with the grandkids and attending their sporting events.

John is survived by his son, William (Terry) Russo of Forest Hill; three daughters, Joni (Tim) Droski of Holland, MI, Susan (Jay) Duley of Forest Hill, Mary Jo (John) O'Neal of Towson; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jason) Tarbell, Matthew (Sarah) Russo, Hannah (Dylan) Peper, Will, Katherine, Brenna and J.T. Duley, Grace and Noelle Lintz, Kyle, Kate and McKenna O'Neal; sister, Mary Kanaskie; and brother, Joseph Russo, Jr.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Ann Reid, and brothers, Michael and Anthony Russo.
