John Irvin Sachs
October 13, 1931 — February 20, 2020
John Irvin Sachs, age 88, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on February 20, 2020 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of John and Catherine (Kirsch) Sachs and husband of 65 years to Shirley E. (Parks) Sachs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a very hardworking man who enjoyed watching golf, tennis and football. John was an avid follower of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and loved Maryland steamed crabs.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his three daughters, Anna Thompson, Teresa Monaghan, and Deborah Williams; two sons, James and Timothy Sachs; two sisters, Joan Stroup and Margaret Quinn; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Danelon.
