Jim Cage

July 20, 1931 — April 4, 2015

Jim Cage, 83, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on April 4, 2015 at his home. Born in Joppa, MD, he was the son of the late Harvey Franklin Cage and Laura Belle (Durham) Cage. He was a musician and had his own band for several years named Sugar Creek. In Nashville he played backup to several singers which included Ann Murray, Conway Twitty, Osborn Brothers and Lloyd Arnold. He also played music in several bands in Harford County, Baltimore County and Pennsylvania. He loved fishing, gardening and fox hunting and was a member of the Mason Dixon Fox Hunters Association. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Cage is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen C. (Smith) Cage; sons, James E. Cage, Harvey V. Cage and wife, Kathy, and Lloyd A. Cage and wife, Michelle, all of Rising Sun; daughter, Natalie S. Cage and fiancé, Troy Rorrer, of Colora; sister, Charlotte V. Schofield of Bel Air; and grandchildren, Noah J. and Joshua L. Cage.
