Ivory Lillian Bauer

Ivory Lillian Bauer, 95, of Bel Air, MD, died peacefully on March 6, 2011 at Lorien Bel Air with her family at her side. Born in Ferrum, VA on December 31, 1915, she was the daughter of David Hassell Underwood and Lula May Radford. She was predeceased by her brother, Irvin Underwood, and by Gordon Bauer, her Husband of 44 years in 1983. They enjoyed many years of traveling together and will be remembered by many for their love of dancing.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Metker and her husband, Roy, of Bel Air, and Pamela Shaffer and her husband, Bill, of Ormond Beach, FL; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She graduated from the Highland School in Street, MD in 1933 and enjoyed attending their annual reunions for many years. She retired from Edgewood Arsenal in 1974 and pursued oil painting, stained glass, and needlework. Her favorite pastime was spending summers in Ocean City with her family.
