Irene C. Archer

Irene C. Archer, age 85, of Bel Air, MD, died of natural causes on August 1, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Sykesville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Basil and Maisie Amelia Brandenburg Cole, and one of nine children. A resident of Harford County since 1948, she started working, at the age of 18, at Ft. Meade in support of WWII where she eventually met her husband of 21 years, the late Willard P. "Ike" Archer. She later retired in 1977 from Aberdeen Proving Ground. A member of the Eastern Star, she belonged to the Wilna Homemakers Association, the Humane Society where she was a volunteer and board member, and also had her real estate license and sold real estate for 12 years. A huge cat lover, she was an avid Oriole fan and Bridge player, as well as, a serious Scrabble player.

Mrs. Archer is survived by her daughters, Connie Kauffman and husband, Eric, Judith Rembold and husband, Donald Rembold Jr. all of Bel Air, MD; six grandchildren, Suzzanne Myers and husband, Dave, of Hillsboro, OR, Melissa Brown, Monika Kauffman, Jacob Kauffman, Matthew Kauffman, and Rebecca Rembold, all of Bel Air, MD; and a great-grandchild, Kiel Brown of Bel Air, MD.

Pallbearers will be Donald Rembold, Kiel Brown, Eric Kauffman, Scott Kauffman, Matthew Kauffman, Jacob Kauffman, Brandon Caldwell, Robert Causey, and Charles Dutrow.
