Hobert M. Simmons

HOBERT M. SIMMONS, age 70, of Aberdeen, MD, died on January 6, 2007, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born in Tazwell County, VA, he was the son of the late Oliver Druey and Hazel Katie Brown Simmons, and the husband of the late Mary Jean Simmons. He worked all of his life as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Union Local #1145 in Washington, D.C. He was a member of Living Word Church in Aberdeen, MD. He loved sports, especially hunting and fishing, and adored his grandchildren. He served his country in the U. S. Navy.

Mr. Simmons is survived by one daughter, Dreama Cooper of Aberdeen, MD; one sister, Reva Brown of Winston-Salem, NC; and two grandchildren, Heather Rene Mumpower and Robert Cody Cooper, both of Aberdeen, MD.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Simmons, and two sisters, Asalee Simmons and Loretta Simmons.

Pallbearers will be Danny Short, Jerry Riley, Eddie Amberman, Don Helbert, Gary Visser and George Clark.
