Freda Ruth Compton

Freda Ruth Compton, age 83, of Joppa, MD passed away on February 7, 2019 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Maryland, she was the daughter of Clyde and Laura (Waddell) Tibbs and wife of the late Phillip Compton. She enjoyed working as a Patient Advocate in Fallston Hospital and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. She never knew a stranger and passionately loved her family and friends. She enjoyed being a crossing guard at Riverside Elementary School for about 5 years retiring in 2014. She made an impact on many people, always working in social settings.

Mrs. Compton is survived by son, Dennis L. (Rose) Compton of Havre de Grace; daughter, Karen Rollins of Joppa; grandchildren, Sarah and Diana Rollins, Jessica (Chris) Baummer, Andrew (Laura) Compton and Megan Compton; and great-grandchildren, Avery Rollins, Madison Munoz and Adalee Baummer.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Irene Greer, Mildred Riley, Ruby McConnell, Tom Tibbs, Harry Tibbs and Barbara Alvarado.
