Evelyn "Ebbie" Brice

June 9, 1942 — January 21, 2022

Evelyn Brice affectionately known as “Ebbie” fell asleep in death on January 21, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 9, 1942 to the late Lloyd “Bill” Andrew and Anna Louise (Norton) Harris.

She received her education from Central Consolidated School in Harford County. She met and married the love of her life Morris “Puddin” Brice. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. As a couple they loved having a good time and enjoyed each other’s company.  Ebbie and Brice relished their weekend outings to the Juke Joint known as Twin Pines. They would cruise in his 64’ Chevy convertible along with his cousins and her brothers. They also enjoyed going to Cabarets, where she could do what she loved the most…DANCING!  Together they raised six children which led to their legacy as Mommom and Poppop to many many MANY grandchildren.

Ebbie started studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and learned the precious truths that she held dearly. She learned that God’s original purpose was for mankind to live forever on a restored Paradise earth, “Where death will be no more…”Revelation 21:1-4. She symbolized her dedication by water baptism on April 13th 1974 and continued to share these Bible truths with family and friends, remaining a faithful servant of Jehovah God until the end.

She was employed with Baltimore County Board of Education for 44 years as a school bus driver where she received numerous safety awards. She was a driving instructor and participated in bus rodeos. She was happy to have her sister Charlotte Robinson as her bus attendant. They shared many zany stories that we all love and know as “The School Bus Chronicles”. Aside from her fulltime employment, Ebbie was an entrepreneur. She sold dinners from her kitchen and hosted many family breakfasts which led to the purchase of her food truck. She was famous for her crab cakes, potato salad, spare ribs, apple dumplings and snoballs!

Ebbie loved gardening and fashion and she found pleasure in “hitting the malls” for the deals. A shimmy dress and a “sharp pair of shoes” were her favorite finds. Her bubbly personality, outrageous laughter, quick wit, and passion for all things family will always be remembered and forever missed.

Evelyn leaves to cherish her love and memory: her beloved husband, Morris Benjamin: her daughters Deborah Thompson (Leroy), Pamela Clements, and Sherry Jenifer; son-in-law Stanley Williams; daughter-in-law R. Michelle Brice; 29 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; siblings, Charles Harris (Renee), James “Pop” Harris (Paula), Roger Harris (Catherine), Anna Moore, Linda Johnson, Denise Stokes and Laura Cromwell; sisters-in-law: Connie Harris and Rhonda Harris, brothers-in-law: Harvey Robinson, Worthy Jones, and Samuel Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and two special aunts; Mildred Norton and Mildred Harris Norton and a special cousin- Edith “Edie” Nutter.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her daughter, Jacalyn “Jackie”; sons Morris and Kevin; son-in-law Mark Jenifer; siblings Lloyd, Thomas, Shirley, Betty, Charlotte, and Viola; brother-in-law Rocky Johnson.
