Evelyn A. Bailey

August 17, 1944 — November 6, 2021

Evelyn A. Bailey, age 77, of Darlington, Maryland passed away after a battle with cancer on November 6, 2021 at Sterling Care Riverside in Belcamp, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Joseph Greashan and Ada Bailey. Evelyn Bailey was a caring generous person who devoted most of her life taking care of others. One of her main passions in life was being a Certified Nursing Assistant. She spent 17+ yrs. working at Poplar Manor Nursing Home, approximately 10 or more at Manor Care Towson and around 9 yrs. at Riverview in Essex. She didn’t stop there, she also dedicated 13 more years performing private duty for Herbert G. Jenkins until his passing. She loved crabs, putting puzzles together, and paint by numbers. She enjoyed following the Ravens and catching the games when she could. She loved her family dearly. Evelyn was a god-fearing woman who served the Lord. She taught her child and grandchildren to value their independence and to always have respect for themselves as well as others. She did not complain much and would tell you herself that she had a good life. The Lord has always been good to her. She was ready to be with the Lord as her favorite saying was “Jesus take the wheel”. She had grown tired and was ready to go to the King also known as Jehovah.

Evelyn leaves behind her daughter, Gwendolyn Gilliam-Pendleton; grandchildren, Venetta Blakely, David Crosby, Selma Shannon, Shanna Shannon, Robbi Shannon, Rhonda Shannon, Reign Shannon and Davon Smith; great-grandchildren, Devron Campbell, David, Jasmein, Skylar & Serenity Crosby, Z’anyah Grier, Aidan Shannon and Levi Shannon; great-great grandson, Kaiden Campbell.
