Eva E. Ehrhardt

June 14, 1912 — December 20, 2003

EVA E. EHRHARDT, age 91, of Baldwin died at home on
December 20, 2003. Born June 14, 1912 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert George and Agnes Edith Yetton James and the wife of the late Clarence E. Ehrhardt. She was
married 62 years, when her husband passed away in 1998. She enjoyed cooking for her family.
Eva and Clarence owned a dairy farm in the Upper Cross Roads area of Harford County, which their son and four grandsons still operate to this day. Eva did everything she could to make the farm operate smoothly and did it all while keeping her home as neat as a pin. She always kept busy. She was always running after machinery parts or delivering hot lunches to the men in the fields. In the summer, she canned fruit and vegetables almost on a daily basis. She and the entire family would set aside an entire day to just can corn for the family, canning 150 dozen on that day. For many years she kept busy selling sweet corn from her roadside stand in front of her house. She enjoyed talking to her customers and wouldn=t hesitate to personally go out to the cornfield for one of them to pick more corn if she had run out already.

Eva was all about her family. She loved her family and made it her duty to look after them every day. She was always ready to give her family advice and tell you what she would do in a particular situation. Her family was always concerned about what AMom-mom@ would think about something they had done. She was always delighted to get her hands on a new family baby and thought she was the one who had to look after it. She always enjoyed having the entire family for dinner on Sundays and holidays. For years, she would have 40+ relatives for 2 Thanksgiving dinners, one in the midday and one in the evening.

Eva was a survivor, having a bout with cancer and the removal of one kidney. She would always say, though, "I have to get better. I have to look after my family".
Mrs. Ehrhardt is survived by one son, James E. Ehrhardt and his wife, Elaine of Baldwin; one daughter, Shirley E. Hornbarger of Baldwin; eight grandchildren: Charles E. Hornbarger, III of Belcamp; Cheryl A. Wienhold of Edgewood; B. Diane Lyons of
