Eugene ''Euke'' Todd

April 29, 1922 — September 30, 2009

Eugene "Euke" Todd, of Bel Air, dies peacefully in his sleep on September 30, 2009 after a brief illness. Born April 29, 1922 in Galax, VA. Son of the late Carl Todd and Eva Grace McKnight, and brother to the late Jean Todd Holden and Carl Dean Todd.

As a lad, he traveled and lived in Colorado with his family and ill father. When his father regained his health, they moved back to Maryland where he lived in Pylesville and helped his father manage and farm several farms in Harford County. He hauled, and took to market, livestock from many farms in MD, PA, and DE. His farm in Bel Air was voted as a model farm with registered cattle in the late 1940's. His farms and livestock produced some of the largest amounts of milk in the tri-state area. Not only was he an excellent manager, anyone who knew him always looked up to him as being honest, fair and a gentleman. In the late 1970's, he and his wife sold the cattle and began developing their farm land into a sub division which is known today as "Todd Lakes", and at one time it was voted as the #1 address to have in Harford County. During the years he served as a member of the Rotary & Lions Club of Bel Air and on the Board of Directors of the 1st National Bank of Harford County. Euke was a long time member of the Maryland Golf and Country Club where he served as President and on the Board of Directors. In his later years, Euke and his wife Billie had a home in Florida where they spent their winters together with family and friends. He was an avid golfer and bridge player. He was always making many friends wherever he went and through his business career. He was a man of honesty and dignity, also being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He truly enjoyed his life and all his friends.

Mr. Todd is survived by his daughters, Cara T. Blount of Bel Air, MD and Linda T. Smith of Street, MD; grandchildren, Jodi L. Harris of Herndon, VA, Amy T. Ressler of Jeffersonton, VA, Samantha L. Moore and Todd M. Blount, both of Bel Air, MD; great-grandchildren, Vincent N. DeFelice of Herndon, VA, Rori C. Ressler of Jeffersonton, VA, Michael A. Harris of Herndon, VA, and Eva G. Ressler of Jeffersonton, VA; and nephew, Todd Holden of Bel Air, MD.

Pallbearers will be Mike Blount, Todd Blount, Jonathan Moore, Jonathan Ressler, Mike Boyle, and Mike Boyle Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Boyle Sr., Gerard Kunkel, Bob Smith, Paul Haviland, and Clarence Boyle Jr.
