Ernest Leff Smith

ERNEST “SMITTY” LEFF SMITH, age 64, of Street, formerly of Conowingo, died September 21, 2003 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born December 3, 1938 in Piney Creek, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Emory Smith and Polly Jane (Dowell) Smith.

Mr. Smith was retired with 32 years of service as a Nursing Assistant at the Perry Point Veteran’s Hospital. He enjoyed baseball and collecting old cars.

Mr. Smith is survived by three sisters, Reba Austin of Grassy Creek, North Carolina; Blandena Carter of Bel Air; and Jessie McMillan of Street and special friend, Angie Heath of Rising Sun. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers will be: James Parks, Johnny Smith, Joe Heaps, Edward Deppish, Norman Hooker, Johnny Jones, and David Cosenza, Jr.
