Elizabeth ''Betty'' Wilson Garrity

Elizabeth (Betty) Wilson Garrity, age 94, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on April 29, 2013 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Sylvester and Elizabeth McDougal Wilson and wife of the late Frank M. Garrity. She was a 1939 graduate of Seton Hill College in Greensburg, PA where she majored in French and was the president of the French Club and the vice president of her senior class. She was the matriarch of a large and wonderful family.

Mrs. Garrity is survived by her sons, Hugh and John Garrity of Fairbanks, AK, Ray Garrity of Homer, AK, Michael Garrity of Maui, HI; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Boario of Anchorage, AK, Sara Manning of Reisterstown, MD, Rita Garrity of Abingdon, MD, Rosemary Allen of Nenana, AK and Anne Marie Garrity of Joppa, MD; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her children Frank M. and Marcella Garrity, brothers, John B. and Hugh S. Wilson and sisters, Agnes W. Hallett and Mary G. Wilson.
