Edward Ward Sr.

Edward Ward Sr., age 87, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on August 6, 2021 at his home. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the son of Joseph Ward Sr. and Mary (Anderson) Ward. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean War. He worked as a Chemical Instructor for the U.S. Department of Defense. He retired after serving his country for 29 years and 7 months.

During his service he received the following decorations, medals and badges; National Defense Service Medal (1st OLC); United Nations Service Medal; Korean Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Army Commendation Medal; and Good Conduct Medal (9th Award).

Edward is survived by his wife, Carole (Lizana) Ward; sons, Kerry Martin Ward (Laurie Ann) of Jonesboro, GA and Edward "Tedd" Ward Jr. (Susan) of Redondo Beach, CA; daughter, Shelley Ann Hill (Darren) of Edgewood; sister, Juanita Robinson of New Orleans, LA; grandsons, Duane Ward I (Nicole) of Marietta, GA, Jeremy Hart (Ivy Sampson) of Anaheim, CA; granddaughters, Kara Ward (Dave Cadet) of Mableton, GA, Madison Hill of Baton Rouge, LA and Kaitlyn Ward of Pittsburgh, PA; great-grandsons, Duane Ward II and Evan Mott of Marietta, GA, DaVon Cadet of Mableton, GA; great-granddaughters, Kaya Jones and NaRae Cadet both of Mableton, GA and Kadynce Mott of Marietta, GA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Norris and Joseph Ward Jr. and sister, Thelma Sutton.
