David Scott Mcbrien

August 22, 1994 — March 13, 2020

Due to the Executive Order by the State of Maryland, regarding limited crowd sizes, all visitations and funeral home services for the foreseeable future will be limited to 50 people including family and invited guests.

David Scott McBrien, age 25, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on March 13, 2020 at his home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of George S. McBrien III and Carol L. McBrien (Welk). David was a soul that was truly one of a kind. His beautiful smile had the ability to light up any room that he entered. His personality was so full of life and he always knew exactly what to say to have everyone around him laughing. David graduated from Calvert Hall College High School where he played lacrosse throughout his time there. David then went on to graduate from Washington College earning a BA in Business with a concentration in Finance, while also playing lacrosse during his time there as well. While the majority of his adult career was spent in the world of finance, David put his heart and soul into his career as a vet tech. He was an avid lover of animals, especially his dog and baby girl, Roxy. In addition to his parents, David is survived by his sister, Kristen M. Huber; brother-in-law, Mark S. Huber, Jr.; fiancée, Anna Elizabeth Bauer; niece, Kalise Huber; nephew, Mason Huber; and grandmother, Peggy Welk. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis Welk, George McBrien, Jr., and Jean McBrien. David battled for a long time with the disease of addiction. Although David’s number one passion in life was winning, unfortunately this was a battle that he fought so hard but did not win. Every life saved from sharing stories like David’s and educating others about this disease is the win for David in the end. David was so much more than an addict and those who truly knew David, knew this as well. Contributions may be made to help those also struggling with the disease of addiction to The Will House, 1343 Dickinson Court, Bel Air, MD 21015 or at thewillhouse.org.
