Chuck Brengle

September 15, 1939 — March 29, 2020

A private visitation will be held for family and invited guests.

Chuck Brengle, age 80, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on March 29, 2020 at his home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Charles and Francis (Epler) Brengle. Chuck retired from MPT as the head of scenic and production in 1997 after 30 years of service and also worked as a scenic artist. Prior to his work at MPT, he was a display manager at Montgomery Wards and worked in display at Hutzlers and Hochschild Kohn’s. He had a passion for music and loved colleting and playing his guitars. When he was younger, he played in several bands. He was an avid model train collector and his train platforms were a work of art. Most recently he enjoyed putting these up for his grandsons and seeing the joy in their faces. He enjoyed fishing with his son and hunting. His favorite place to vacation with the family was Williamsburg because of his love of history, especially the Revolution. He was proud to be a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He loved cars (especially his corvettes) and motorcycles. He could build and rebuild anything. There was very little he couldn't do or didn't like to do as long as it wasn't outside yard work or gardening!! He was very creative.

Charles is survived by his wife, Christine Brengle, of 49 years as of their anniversary on March 27, 2020, daughter, Margaret and her husband Jeremy E. Brown; son, Charles 'CB' IV and his wife Lisa; grandchildren, Gavin & Bryce Brown and Josephine Brengle all of whom brought him great joy; and sisters, Bette Poole and Margaret Brengle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Ryan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Williamsburg, 101 Visitor Center Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
