Carroll Yance Felton

Carroll Yance Felton, age 79, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on March 23, 2023 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Tarapchak) Yance, sister to Dorothy (Yance) Owsiany and the late Theodore Yance, and wife of George F. Felton Jr.

After starting a family in Chadds Ford, PA in the mid-1960’s, the family moved to Ashland, KY in the mid-1970’s where Carroll focused on being a nurturing mother to her three children and coordinating social events as a founding member of the Ashland Oil Wives Club. In the mid-1980’s the family moved to Bel Air, MD into a house that has stayed in the Felton family and where she most recently lived.

Carroll attended Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Street, MD where she used her gift of hospitality to serve the community through senior lunches and events like the annual Strawberry Festival. She was a wonderful cook, and also enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. Carroll loved her cat, Belvita and spending time with family who visited her daily.

In addition to her husband George F. Felton Jr., Carroll is survived by three children: George F. Felton III, Marcie L. Hickey, and Matthew S. (Stephanie) Felton; and three grandchildren: Tyler B. Hickey, Liliana G. Felton, and Jada C. Felton.

A celebration of life will be hosted by the family for Carroll on April 30, 2023 from 3-6 pm at The Tower restaurant in Bel Air.
