Carole M. Cleary

Carole May (Waltemyer) Cleary of Bel Air, MD passed away on October 31, 2021, at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, MD. She was age 82. She was born on May 27, 1939 in Norrisville, MD. Carole was the daughter of the late Howard “Teddy” and Christine “Teenie” (Leviskevich) Waltemyer. She was the wife of the late David E. Cleary of Bel Air for 55 years of marriage, whom had preceded her in death on November 2, 2012.  

Growing up on her parents’ farm in Harford County, MD, she had attended the former two-room Norrisville Elementary School, the Highland Elementary School and the North Harford High School. She had past employment in Pennsylvania, Alaska and in Maryland. Locally, she had past employment with the former Gleneagles of Bel Air, the Harford County Board of Education at the Youth Benefit Elementary School in Fallston and with the former Hecht’s Department Store and Macy’s at the Harford Mall in Bel Air. Carole was a non-denominational Christian visiting different churches. Her faith was in our “Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Living God Almighty!” (St. John Chp.: 16-17). 

Carole is survived by her two sons, David E Cleary, Jr. and daughter-in-law Valerie of Pylesville, MD and Steven M. Cleary and daughter-in-law Susan of Bel Air, MD; grandchildren, Matthew “Matt” S. Cleary and “Megan’ E. Cleary of Bel Air, MD; sisters, Irene J. Orwig of Shrewsbury, PA and Arlene L. Zimmerman of Fawn Grove, PA, Ardene G. “Jenny” Stone and husband Willie of Jonesborough, TN; sister-in-law, Frances (Miller) Waltemyer of New Freedom, PA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert H. Waltemyer of Norrisville, MD and Richard L. Waltemyer of New Freedom, PA; sisters, Christine A. Simpson of Jacobus, PA, Mary D. Ecker of Lutherville, MD and Ellen M. Leisenring of New Freedom, PA.
