Carl August Stephens

CARL AUGUST STEPHENS, age 82, of Upper Falls, Maryland, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on October 21, 2003. Born in Joppa, Maryland, he was the son of the late Thomas Herbert and Beata May Anderson Stephens and the husband of the late Ruth Chatterton Stephens. After retiring as an insurance agent, he worked for about 20 years at Kingsville Motors with his late wife. In the past, he was very active with Odd Fellows in Upper Falls and the Lions Club in Kingsville and Perry Hall. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He served in the Army during WWII.

Mr. Stephens is survived by one daughter, Nancy L. Smith and her husband, Edward of Rochester, New York; two step-sons, Skip Bell and his wife, Cheryl of Kingsville; Billy Bell and his wife, Lucia of Forest Hill; one brother, Lt. Comm. Charles Herbert Stephens of Easton, Maryland; two step-grandchildren, April Bell Thomas; Sam Bell; and one step-great-grandchild, Paige Thomas. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, William Edward Stephens and a sister, B. May Seward.
