Bradford J. Stevenson

May 12, 1980 — February 12, 2023

Bradford J. Stevenson, age 42, passed away on February 12, 2023 peacefully at his home and surrounded by his loving family after a brief but vicious fight with cancer. Brad was a resident of Bel Air, MD by way of several stops along the path, most notably Lakewood, NJ; Poughkeepsie, NY; and Portsmouth and Newport, RI. Born in Newport, he was a lifelong lover of the sea, and his home waters were the Narragansett Bay. Brad worked as a civilian research scientist in Research and Development for the U.S. Army Department of Defense. He could not talk in much detail about his work, but we know his work ultimately saved countless soldiers' lives. He recently received his ten-year service award for the Army, and also was recently awarded employee of the quarter and received a Civilian Service Commendation Medal from the Secretary of the Army. His good-natured sense of humor and ability to casually and jovially fill a room and command an audience were all remarkable skills to witness. Brad was well loved in all walks of his life and left behind a legacy of love, kindness, empathy and benevolence that will live in others’ hearts as long and as boldly as his memory will live. His family and friends are undeniably proud of all the good he has done in this world.

His is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Jackson) Stevenson; his daughters, Vivienne (Vivi) and Eleanor (Ellie) Stevenson; his father, Fred Stevenson, Jr. and stepmother, Karen Stevenson; his mother, Lauren Anton and stepfather, Bob Anton; his brother, Doug Stevenson and his wife Erin and their children, Grant and Ada; his grandmother, Marge Stevenson; his aunt, Sandy Gempp and her husband, Tom; aunt Sue Stevenson; his Kilroy family, uncle Stephen, uncle Jon, aunt Patty, uncle Mark and aunt Vicky and their families; his mother-in-law, Fran Jackson; his brothers-in-law, Dave and Don and their families; his stepbrothers, Adam, Dan and Rob Anton and their families; and a myriad of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
