On October 2, 2018, Blanche Helen Smith (Wotring) of Fallston, Md. passed away peacefully at age 86. She is survived by her children: Darwin (Shirley) of Jarrettsville, Irene Cooper of Ellerbe, NC, Eugene (Carolyn) of Forest Hill, Ronald ( Ruth Ann) of Pylesville, Dorsey of Baltimore, Timothy (Seri) of Westminster, Sue Hayden (Mike) of Fallston. Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren whom she cherished. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Kesner of Keyser, W Va. She was predeceased by her husband, Darl Kenneth, sons, Gary Lee, Denzil Norman, Nelson Everette, Daughter-in-Law, Cynthia Kay, Son-in-law, James (Buddy) Cooper, parents Charley Edison and Dora Snyder as well as 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Smith has been a member of the William Watters Memorial United Methodist Church since 1965, where she had taught Sunday School, as well as Vacation Bible School, sung in the Church Choir, member of the UMW. Helped orchestrate and carry out many church dinners, yard sales, as well as Hymn Sings. Mrs. Smith spent her life as a loving wife, mother, friend, quilter, babysitter for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and canning many items, such as green beans, tomatoes (made ketchup , stewed tomatoes, as well as tomato juice). She also helped make homemade Apple Butter at Sunnyside Church, in Keyser W Va for many years. Viewings will be held on Monday, October 8th from 2-4 PM - 7-9 PM and on Tuesday October 9th from 10-11 AM from the William Watters Memorial UMC, 1452 W. Jarrettsville Road, Jarrettsville, Md. 21084. Service will be held Tuesday at the church at 11:00 AM. Rev. Ken Fizer, Pastor Travis Knoll and Rev. Michael Hayden, Sr. will be officiating the service. Interment in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, 809 Rock Spring Road, Bel Air, Maryland 21014. In lieu of flowers:
