Alexander M. Mitchell

Alexander “Sandy” Mitchell, age 88 of Joppatowne, Maryland passed away on October 20, 2021. The son of William H. and Janet M. Mitchell and the husband of the late Rometta H. Mitchell, he is survived by his daughter Susan Shillenn, his sons Brian and Andrew, 4 granddaughters, 5 great-grandchildren, his sister Ann and many other loving family members and friends.

Sandy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and grew up in New York, New Jersey and Virginia. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother William. He met his wife at the telephone company in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was an operator and he was an installer. He went on to have a long career with AT&T, including many years at Western Electric in Cockeysville. He was proud of patents that were obtained for inventions/modifications that he developed at work.

Blessed throughout his life with a remarkably generous spirit, Sandy was always ready to help other people.
