Stuart J. Ruzi Jr.

Stuart J. Ruzi Jr., age 91, of Abingdon, MD passed away on January 4, 2018 at his home. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Stuart Joseph Ruzi and Lucretia Catherine (Draguiescu) Ruzi. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in WWII. He retired from Boeing where he worked as an engineer, and was a member of a Masonic Lodge in the Philadelphia area and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where he helped with the Children of Zion Mission and Beyond Capernium Mission, worked at the children's summer camp, and helped with the senior group luncheon. He liked to restore furniture, read, help others, attend church services and assist the church any way that he could. He also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, dogs, coin collecting, and watching sports. He had played for the minor league Los Angeles Dodgers as a pitcher and was a champion rollerskater. He loved his grandchildren and the time he spent with them.

Mr. Ruzi is survived by his wife of 29 years, Beverly Ella Ruzi; daughter, Deborah (Clarence) Staigerwald of Baltimore; step-daughter, Kimberly Huddler of Baltimore; two step-sons, Robert (Eileen) L. Huddler, Jr. of Westminster and Curt (Karen) C. Huddler of Abingdon; two grandsons, Frank Meyer and Ian Huddler; four granddaughters, Catherine Huddler, Mary Huddler, Megan Huddler and Emily Huddler; great-granddaughter, Arabelle Huddler; many nieces and nephews; and sister, Joy (Wesley) Koester of Oregon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Ruzi.
