Louis Anthony Locaso Sr.

Louis Anthony Locaso Sr., age 76, of Downsville,NY passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House in Forest Hill, Maryland.

Lou was born May 14, 1942 in Manhattan, NY; he was the son of Vincent and Teresa (Lahara) Locaso. At 25, he joined the New York City Police Department and was later promoted to Detective. He was a member of the elite TPF (Tactical Patrol Force) that was specially trained for fighting crime, high profile events and controlling civil disorder.

He later moved to Shirley, NY on Long Island to raise his family. After retiring from the police department he owned and operated The Chas Mar Pub for several years. Lou enjoyed hunting in Upstate New York and eventually made his residence in Downsville, NY.

In later years, he enjoyed spending summers in Downsville, where he took great pride in manicuring his property, going to the casino, and golfing with the guys. Winters were spent on Hutchinson Island, FL where he golfed, played Bocce and especially looked forward to his Tuesday/Thursday card games with the condo crew. Lou was happiest when friends and family could come for a visit, yelling at the tv while watching the Yankees or Giants and listening to Frank Sinatra.

Lou is survived by his wife of 22 years, Betty Locaso; four sons; Louis Locaso Jr. (Deana) of Shirley, NY, Gregory Locaso of Shirley, NY, Anthony VonAldenbruck (Andrea) of Stuart, FL and Dennis VonAldenbruck (Katie) of Stuart, FL , two daughters; Shari LoPresti (Peter) of Churchville, MD and Nicole Zujovic (James) of Charleston, SC; and a sister Linda of NY,NY. He has 15 grandchildren; Ryan, Sydney, Jessica, Amanda, Katie, Greg Jr, Kate, Olivia, Lauren, Alec, Emily, Allison, Liz, Grace and Easton; and 2 great grandchildren; Aubrey and Bryce. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Joy Locaso, daughter Terri Kleber and brother Frank Locaso.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lou’s name to The Senator Bob Hooper House, 520 Upper Cheaspeake Drive, Suite 405 Bel Air, MD 21014.
