Georgia Washington

Georgia Washington, age 92, of Abingdon, MD passed away on November 14, 2017 at her home. Born in Uniontown, AL, she was the daughter of Haywood and Emmaline (Key) Green and was the wife, for 53 years, of the late Sam Houston Washington Sr. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 605 in Perryman and a longtime member of John Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, cooking and gardening. She also helped assist with registering to vote in Harford County. She loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Washington is survived by children, Sam H. Washington, Jr. (Kelley) of Aberdeen, Denuva Rosen of Abingdon, Kenneth W. Washington (Ruthie) of Joppa, Gary L. Washington of North East and Darrell L. Washington, Sr. of Abingdon; sister, Alberta Williams of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Cassandra Washington, Venganique Rosen-Heuer (Erik), Shelby Washington, R. Kinu Washington, Latoya Washington and Darrell Washington Jr. (Tarryn) and Lydia Washington; great-grandchildren, Josh, Airlia, Amoretha, Devyn, Aidan, Ari, Robbi, Shanya, Myel, Leyloni, Sam III, Zoey, Brandon Jr., Lael and Te’Qariana; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charlie, Ora, Corine, Eloise and Mary.
