George B. Jones Jr.

George B. Jones, Jr., age 90, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on January 20, 2018 at Joyous Living in White Marsh, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of George Bishop Jones and Catherine Irene (Biggs) Jones. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and moved to Dundalk and worked at Bethlehem Steel for over 45 years retiring in 1990 and moved to Abingdon. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Senior Club. He loved bowling, fishing, playing cards and also liked to read and do crossword puzzles. His true love place to travel was Hawaii where he visited 6 times. Years ago, he enjoyed vacationing at the beach with his family.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth M. Jones; three sons, Robert (Mary) Jones of Nottingham, William (Mary) Jones of Dundalk and David (Christina) Jones of Oakland; two brothers, Carl Jones of Dundalk and Paul Jones of Parkville; 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
