Danita R. Cornelison

Danita R. Cornelison, age 69, of Bel Air, MD passed away on June 11, 2018 at Seasons Hospice @ Franklin Square in Rosedale, MD. Born in Sioux City, IA, she was the daughter of Dan Russell and Scharmel Gay (Sturtevant) Shaver. She was the Administrator of ACPR Gymnastics and served on the Churchville Recreation Council and its Board of Directors for decades. Her family was most important to her; she dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She loved all holidays but especially Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter with family. She also enjoyed entertaining friends and family at home and hosting Halloween parties. Danita was an excellent cook, she loved to read and was very well read. Danita also loved to shop for gifts for family and friends and adored it when it snowed.

Mrs. Cornelison is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steven George Cornelison; two daughters, Sara McShane (Ryan) and Elizabeth Cornelison; son, Nicholas Cornelison; sister, Karen McGee; five grandchildren, Thomas "Riley" McShane, Ella Durden, Jack McShane, Natalia Cornelison, and Daniel Durden; niece, Kara Peck; and several loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Shaver.
