Life Planning Seminar Held at Edgewood Assembly of God On Wednesday March 23, McComas Funeral Home sponsored a Life Planning Seminar at Edgewood Assembly of God. The presentation was the latest in the community outreach series of the funeral home. In partnership with Edgewood Assembly of God, the evening brought together experts in the fields of hospice care, elder care law, pre planning of funerals, and Grief Support.
Thanksgiving Turkey Day Trot
Once again, McComas Funeral Home has partnered with the YMCA of Maryland, to help sponsor the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot that was held at the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air. This race marks the sixth year that the funeral home has helped to sponsor the event. This year's event attracted a record 1500 participants on a beautiful morning.
Longwood Gardens Bus Trip
On May 28, 2010, McComas Funeral Home sponsored its annual Widow/Widower bus trip to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. This annual trip is meant to bring together families who have recently lost a spouse, and to offer them a day out at the Gardens. McComas Funeral Home has sponsored such trips for the past 5 years. Holly McComas Pennington, who coordinates the trip, says “we enjoy the fact that we are able to do something like this in an effort to give back and allow for folks to gather in a relaxed and beautiful setting. It has been so well received over the years, that we intend to continue this tradition for years to come.”
