At McComas Funeral Home, our caring does not stop after the funeral of your loved one. McComas Funeral Home continues to provide support for you and your family through its Grief Share Program and our annual memorial service.
This list of organizations has been compiled in the hope that it can be a resource to anyone working through the grief process. Additional information, counseling and support may be vailable to you through your faith community, or the hospital and/or hospice that served you. The Department of Veterans Affairs Offers bereavement counseling to parents, spouses and children of Armed Forces Personnel who died in the service of their country. This also includes family members of reservists and National Guardsman who die while on duty. Taps (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) This is an outreach program provided to survivors of Armed Forces Personnel who have died in the services of their country. There are workshops and seminars. A Good Grief Camp for children is a one day program offered regionally and nationally. Gilchrist Hospice Care Gilchrist Hospice is an extension of GBMC. They offer a variety of bereavement services that are open to the community. Stella Maris - Center for Grief and Loss They also offer a variety of bereavement services. Go to www.stellamarisinc.com and click on Resources on the left menu bar. A list of bereavement services will appear. They also provide several hand-outs bereavement information, such as tips and things you should know.

The Compassionate Friends Harford County Chapter A self-help group that offers friendship and support to any parent who has experienced the loss of a child. Also open to siblings and/or other immediate family members.
